Directions
Pre-heat oven to 180°C/160°C fan/gas mark 4.
Mix the sausage meat and cheese together.
Roll out the pastry fairly thinly (½ cm thick) and cut into two 12cm x 36cm lengths.
Divide the sausage mixture into two equal parts. Spread the chilli jelly over the surface then lay out the sausage meat mixture along the length of each pastry strip in a cylindrical shape - you want there to be a 1cm border.
Brush the top of the sausage meat and borders with beaten egg yolk. Tightly roll the pastry over the sausage to encase it. Cut into 18 sausage rolls and chill for 15 minutes.
Brush the remaining egg over the sausage rolls and sprinkle over seeds if using. Bake for 30 minutes until cooked through and a deep golden brown.
