Product Description

A bold and historic British ham, our Shropshire Black is dry cured and matured to develop exceptional depth of flavour, then finished with its distinctive black rind. Made using a centuries-old recipe with molasses and spices, this fully cooked joint delivers a firm texture and robust, savoury character prized by true ham lovers.

Inspired by the legendary Bradenham Ham of 1781 - a recipe said to have travelled from Buckinghamshire to Wiltshire via a disgruntled butler - this heritage ham remains one of Britain’s most iconic cures. Crafted from outdoor-bred British pork, each joint is traditionally dry cured before being steeped for two weeks in a rich marinade of molasses, juniper berries and warming spices.

This process creates the ham’s hallmark black rind and its intensely savoury flavour, balanced with gentle sweetness and aromatic spice. After extended maturation, the result is a densely flavoured ham with remarkable depth and a satisfyingly firm bite.

Fully cooked and ready to serve, this artisan ham is impressive served as a centrepiece or sliced cold for charcuterie boards, sandwiches and sharing platters. A proud celebration of Britain’s curing heritage, crafted for those who appreciate strong, complex flavours.

Why you’ll love it:
– Distinctive black rind and deep, savoury flavour
– Traditional dry cure and long maturation for firm texture
– Infused with molasses, juniper and spice
– Cooked and ready to carve
– A heritage ham with a rich backstory and bold character

Pairs with:
