Jonny Crickmore imported his herd of red and white Montbeliarde cows from small French alpine farms, and they now graze the lush meadows of Stow Fen where Jonny makes this fabulous cheese in small batches from raw milk still warm from the morning’s milking.
One of only a handful of its type to be made by the farmer on the farm, the delicious result is the only traditional raw milk Brie-de-Meaux style cheese produced in the UK. The cheese has a smooth, delicate and silky texture and complex, long lasting flavours that bounce around the mouth. Baron Bigod is not suitable for vegetarians.
